Project Access for Children

 

Making a Difference

Medication Assistance for Children through Project Access funded by the John Rex Endowment.

Committed to improving the health of uninsured, low-income children of Wake County

Hospital Services – Duke Health Raleigh Hospital, Rex Healthcare and WakeMed accept patients referred by Project Access volunteer doctors.

Medication Assistance – Children enrolled will receive a medication assistance card and be able to receive certain medications prescribed by Project Access physicians for only $4. Children have a $700 annual benefit.

How does one get enrolled?
Children can be enrolled at the Health Department, New Bern Ridge Pediatrics or by other approved healthcare professionals, including Wake County school nurses.


  • $700 annual benefit with a $4 co-payment per prescription.
  • Eligible children can be enrolled for meds only.
  • Enrollment representative must verify eligibility requirements.
  • Enrollment representative must provide the name of the prescribing physician and the drug being prescribed.
  • Indicate “MEDS ONLY” at the top of the enrollment application.
  • Complete enrollment application & fax to 510-9162.
  • Eyeglass vouchers also available for Project Access eligible children.
